Well, you have come to the right place!The Diecast-Aviation Website and Forum are proud to organising the 2008 Bomber Command Day at Elvington in the shadows of it's Museum and the famous "Friday the 13th" Halifax. We will have exclusive use of the Elvington Room for our event with the full programme including catering taking place in the function room that is a former WW2 nissen hut! Not as basic as it sounds....Bentley have used it for their car launches! A unique offer open to those who will be joining us will be the opportunity to purchase an optional EXTERNAL guided tour of Friday 13th. Each lasting 1 hour and will be on a first come first served basis. Hurry - Places are now getting limited and you must express your interest and book at time of sending your money in for tickets. Payment for the tour will be on the day! The external tours are £10.00 per person and extremely good value, but ONLY available at this cost on the day. DO NOT SEND MONEY FOR THIS WITH YOUR BOOKING BUT STATE IF YOIU WOULD LIKE THE CHANCE TO BUY A PLACE.
Signed ‘Dambusters in Focus’ Books – DAF Members only Also available on a first come, first served basis will be a limited number of fantastic ‘Dambusters in Focus’ books signed by Jim Shortland, Mark Postlethwhaite and a number of 617 Squadron veterans . The book retails at £19.99 but these few unique copies (8 in total) will be available for £25. Again , please state when booking if you would like one of these books. Books will be picked up at the event as Jim will try and add additional signatures over the Summer at the Bomber Command aircrew reunions he is is attending. DO NOT SEND MONEY FOR THIS WITH YOUR BOOKING BUT STATE IF YOU WOULD WISH THE CHANCE TO BUY A COPY.
UPDATE - 31-05-08 Provisional programme has not been put together to show you just how much we are trying to cram-in on the day for your enjoyment. We CANNOT fit much more in I am afraid so really hope you can join us!
